Russell Harris, has an MA in Oriental Studies from , Oxford.
As an editor, Russell has worked on a variety of academic titles at IIS, as well as carrying out picture research, and consulting on translations of Arabic texts, most usually for the Ras膩示il Ikhw膩n al-峁f膩示From Arabic, lit. 鈥楤rethren of Purity鈥, a group of learned scholars who were based in Basra and Baghdad around the last quarter of the t10th century CE. He has written many articles on Middle Eastern art for various international journals and magazines and has published books on portraits of India鈥檚 ruling princes from the archives of the and the . He has also curated exhibitions of historic photographs in palaces and museums throughout Europe and in the Middle East as well as being a published literary translator.
